- It has been suggested several times that shift and control for the two
- above sets be EXCHANGED for various reasons, including the danger
- involved in at least one of them (shift-backspace), and that some people
- have expressed a preference that they be exchanged and some have said
- that the exchanged version would be more logical and consistent with some
- programs.
-
- You can't possibly believe that shift-backspace is a GOOD thing, can
- you? Why do you want it in there? You can solve (kludge) the Ctrl-A
- problem by making dramatic changes in philosophy from how many programs
- function, but there's nothing you can do to fix shift-backspace. If
- you're typing in a string of capital letters, make a space, and hit
- backspace, your line is GONE! This is NOT a good design. Change it.
-
- If you think that ignoring me is going to get me to stop nagging, you're
- wrong. I am the king of Atari fanatics, and I will NOT allow (without a
- BIG fight) something to add further corruption to developer standards and
- methods. My intention is to make sure that this standard is as
- bullet-proof as possible, no matter what it takes.
-
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Don't ever use any software that uses Ctrl-A for Select-All
- Don't ever use any software that uses Shift-Backspace to delete a line.
- Unusual tagline, isn't it?
